Cooking Pasta

Boil Pasta
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

Cook Macaroni
Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni to the boiling water and cook for 7-8 minutes until al dente. Stir occasionally.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the macaroni in a colander and set aside.
Making Cheese Sauce

Create Roux
Once melted, add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour to the butter and whisk continuously for about 1 minute.

Add Milk
Gradually pour in 2 cups of milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Continue cooking for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Add Cheeses
Lower the heat and stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese and 4 oz of cream cheese until melted and smooth.

Season Sauce
Add 1 tsp of ground black pepper and 1 tsp of garlic powder. Stir until well combined.
Combining Ingredients

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained macaroni back into the pot with the cheese sauce. Stir until all the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

Garnish and Serve
Serve the mac and cheese in bowls and top with the chopped bacon. Enjoy your delicious mac & cheese!
