Burger Patty

Whipped Brie Cheese

Belgium Stew

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with black pepper and salt. Form into four equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness.

Whipped Brie Cheese

  1. 3

    Whip the Brie

In a mixing bowl, combine Brie cheese and heavy cream. Whip using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.

Belgium Stew

  1. 4

    Brown the Beef

In a large pot, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat. Once browned, remove from the pot and set aside.

  2. 5

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same pot, add diced onion, carrots, and garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

  3. 6

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Return the beef to the pot, then pour in the Belgian ale and beef broth. Add thyme, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 7

    Simmer the Stew

Cover and let simmer for about 1-1.5 hours until the beef is tender.

Tobacco Onions

  1. 8

    Soak the Onions

In a bowl, soak the thinly sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.

  2. 9

    Prepare the Coating

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 10

    Fry the Onions

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove onions from buttermilk, dredge in the flour mixture, and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Burger Assembly

  1. 11

    Assemble the Burger

On a toasted pretzel roll, place a cooked beef patty, top with a slice of smoked Gouda, a generous dollop of whipped Brie cheese, a scoop of Belgium stew, and a handful of tobacco onions.

  2. 12

    Serve

Serve the burger with a side of French Dijon mustard and truffle fries.
