Chili Ingredients

Method

Chili Preparation

  1. 1

    Brown the Beef

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper to the pot. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the Spices

Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to toast the spices.

  4. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

Add the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beer to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Chili

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Serve and Garnish

Once the chili has thickened to your liking, ladle it into bowls and top with a dollop of sour cream to taste. Enjoy!
