Method

Cooking the Eggs

  1. 1

    Whisk the Eggs

In a bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together with salt and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Cook the Eggs

In a skillet, heat butter or oil over medium heat. Add the whisked eggs and cook to your desired style (scrambled, sunny-side-up, or over-easy). Cook until the eggs are set or cooked to your preference.

Preparing the Grits

  1. 3

    Boil Water

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add salt.

  2. 4

    Cook Grits

Gradually whisk in the grits and reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened. Stir in butter before serving.

Preparing the Hash Browns

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a separate skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Cook Hash Browns

Add hash browns to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden brown. Season with salt and pepper if desired.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve the eggs alongside the grits or hash browns. Add cheese, green onions, salsa, or sour cream on top as desired.
