Toast or Biscuits

Method

Omelette Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Shrimp

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Egg Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cook Omelette

In the same skillet used for the shrimp, pour the egg mixture. Cook on medium-low heat until the edges begin to set, about 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle the cooked shrimp and cheddar cheese over half of the omelette. Gently fold the other half over the shrimp and cheese. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Grits or Hash Browns Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook Grits

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of grits and 0.5 tsp salt. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the grits are thickened and creamy, about 20-25 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon of butter before serving.

  2. 5

    Prepare Hash Browns (if preferred)

Rinse and grate the two medium potatoes. Squeeze out any excess moisture and pat dry. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the grated potatoes, pressing them down with a spatula. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Season with salt to taste.

Toast or Biscuits Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Toast

Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown. Serve with butter or jam as desired.

  2. 7

    Make Biscuits

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). In a bowl, mix 2 cups of biscuit mix with 0.75 cups of milk and 0.5 cups of softened butter until just combined. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
