Edamame

Method

Edamame Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Edamame

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the edamame pods and cook for about 5 minutes until tender but still crunchy. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

Prepare the Garlic and Szechuan Peppercorns

While the edamame is cooking, peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the Szechuan peppercorns for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and crush lightly.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Garlic

In the same skillet, add the olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked edamame to the skillet with the garlic. Sprinkle in the toasted Szechuan peppercorns, salt, and red chili flakes. Toss everything together until the edamame is well coated.

  5. 5

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the edamame. Toss again to incorporate the flavors.
