Cabbage Gyoza
Method
Making Cabbage Gyoza
- 1
Prepare the Filling
Finely chop the cabbage, carrot, and green onions. Grate the garlic and ginger.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, carrot, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 3
Assemble the Gyoza
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
- 4
Cook the Gyoza
Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the gyoza in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- 5
Steam the Gyoza
Add 1 cup of water to the skillet, cover immediately, and steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.
- 6
Serve
Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with ponzu sauce for dipping.
