Lavender Syrup

Lavender Latte

Method

Lavender Syrup

  1. 1

    Make the Lavender Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine the dried culinary lavender, water, and granulated sugar.

  2. 2

    Boil the Mixture

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes to allow the lavender flavor to infuse.

  4. 4

    Strain the Syrup

Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean container, discarding the lavender flowers.

  5. 5

    Cool and Store

Let the syrup cool completely before using. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Lavender Latte

  1. 6

    Prepare the Espresso

Brew 2 shots of espresso using your preferred method (espresso machine, stovetop espresso maker, etc.).

  2. 7

    Steam the Milk

In a separate container, steam 1 cup of milk until hot and frothy. If you don’t have a steamer, you can heat the milk on the stove or in the microwave and then froth it using a whisk or frother.

  3. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mug, pour the steamed milk over the brewed espresso. Add 2 tablespoons of the homemade lavender syrup.

  4. 9

    Garnish

Stir gently to combine. Optionally, garnish with a couple of lavender sprigs for a beautiful presentation.

  5. 10

    Serve

Enjoy your homemade lavender latte while warm!
