Method
Chicken Wings Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken Wings
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- 2
Coat the Wings
Add the chicken wings to the flour mixture and toss until they are evenly coated.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan or fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the coated chicken wings to the hot oil in batches and fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 5
Drain and Keep Warm
Remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Keep warm while you prepare the fries.
Fries Preparation
- 6
Cut the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.
- 7
Soak the Fries
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- 8
Heat the Oil for Fries
In a separate deep pan or fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Fry the Fries
Carefully add the dried fries to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 4-6 minutes or until golden and crispy. Stir occasionally for even cooking.
- 10
Season the Fries
Once fried, remove the fries from the oil, drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with salt while still hot.
