Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bananas

Peel the mini saba bananas carefully and set them aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Skewers

Soak the bamboo skewers in water for about 10 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking.

Making Caramel Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 4

    Cook the Caramel

Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Allow it to boil for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  3. 5

    Add Butter

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the butter until fully melted and combined. Set aside to cool slightly.

Caramelizing the Bananas

  1. 6

    Skewer the Bananas

Take each peeled mini saba banana and skewer it onto a bamboo stick, making sure it's secure.

  2. 7

    Caramelize the Bananas

In a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, place the skewered bananas. Pour a generous amount of the caramel sauce over the bananas and cook for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally until they are evenly coated and caramelized.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Warm

Remove the caramelized bananas from the pan and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle with any remaining caramel sauce and serve warm.
