Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
- 2
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
- 3
Cook the Beef
Add the grass-fed ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- 4
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned San Marzano tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combining and Serving
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Once the sauce has thickened and is flavorful, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss gently until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- 6
Serve
Divide the spaghetti di Bologna onto plates. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
