Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take the chicken breasts and pound them to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour mixed with salt and black pepper. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing to adhere.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
Topping
- 5
Add Marinara and Cheese
Spoon the marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- 6
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
If desired, sprinkle fresh basil over the top before serving. Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
