Steak Preparation

Method
Steak Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Start by taking the beef steak out of the refrigerator and allowing it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.
- 2
Season the Steak
Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and black pepper. Rub the seasoning into the meat for better flavor absorption.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but does not smoke.
- 4
Cook the Steak
Place the steak in the hot skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (medium-rare is about 130°F).
- 5
Rest the Steak
Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 6
Slice the Steak
After resting, thinly slice the steak against the grain to maintain tenderness.
Garnish Preparation
- 7
Prepare Garnishes
While the steak is resting, wash and prepare the garnishes. Chop the cilantro, slice the green onions, and slice the chili peppers as desired. Cut lime into wedges.
- 8
Serve
Arrange the sliced steak on a serving platter. Top with fresh cilantro, green onions, and chili peppers. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
