Pork Marinade

Banh Mi Assembly

Method

Pork Marinade

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, minced garlic, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Add the Pork

Add the pork tenderloin to the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for better flavor.

Pickled Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Pickling Liquid

In a saucepan, combine white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat.

  2. 4

    Pickle the Vegetables

In a jar, layer the julienned carrots and daikon radish. Pour the pickling liquid over the vegetables. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking and Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Pork

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the pork from the marinade and grill or sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Let rest before slicing.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Banh Mi

Slice the baguette lengthwise. Spread mayonnaise on one side. Layer with sliced pork, pickled vegetables, cucumber slices, and fresh cilantro.

  3. 7

    Serve

Close the baguette and slice into halves or quarters. Serve immediately.
