Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Baby Squid

Rinse the baby squid under cold running water. Remove the heads and innards, then peel off the outer skin. You can also remove the beaks. Set the cleaned squid aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic and Parsley

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley finely. Set aside for later use.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 5

    Cook the Squid

Add the cleaned baby squid to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the squid is opaque and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Season the Dish

Add the lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  5. 7

    Add the Parsley

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Squid

Transfer the sautéed baby squid to a serving platter and garnish with lemon wedges.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish. Enjoy!
