Escargots

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preparing the Garlic Herb Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic cloves, chopped parsley, thyme, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined and smooth.

  2. 2

    Preparing the Snails

If using canned escargots, drain them and rinse under cold water. If using fresh snails, ensure they are cleaned and purged properly.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 3

    Filling the Shells

Place a small amount of the garlic herb butter mixture into each escargot shell. Add one escargot to each shell and top with more garlic herb butter.

  2. 4

    Baking

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the filled escargot shells in a baking dish, ensuring they are stable. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the butter is bubbling and the tops are slightly golden.

  3. 5

    Serving

Remove from the oven and serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious garlic herb butter.
