Crab Cake Ingredients

Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the blue crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, fine bread crumbs, egg, green onions, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Form the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, form the crab mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should be able to make approximately 8 crab cakes. Place the formed crab cakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Chill the Crab Cakes

Cover the crab cakes with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the canola oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the crab cakes warm with a side of spicy remoulade for dipping.
