Main Ingredients

Whiskey Butter

Method

Preparation of Whiskey Butter

  1. 1

    Make the Whiskey Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in whiskey, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

Cooking the Skillet

  1. 2

    Cook the Chorizo

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chorizo sausage. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chorizo from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Smoked Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the smoked mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are heated through and slightly crispy.

  3. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Return the cooked chorizo to the skillet with the mushrooms. Pour the whiskey butter over the mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.

  4. 5

    Add Parmesan

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top. Allow it to melt slightly from the residual heat before serving.
