Method
Prepare the Beer Battered Cod
- 1
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually pour in the beer while whisking to create a smooth batter. Set aside.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Batter the Cod
Dip each cod fillet into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.

Fry the Cod
Carefully place the battered cod fillets into the hot oil. Fry for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

- 6
Heat the Oil
In a separate pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-6 minutes or until they are golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and shredded carrot.
- 9
