Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the ribeye steak with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Add the steak to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Sauté Onions

While the steak is resting, slice the onion and add it to the skillet. Sauté until golden brown and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Au Jus

In a small saucepan, heat the beef broth over low heat. Add in the sliced steak drippings from the skillet for additional flavor.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Hoagies

Slice the rested steak thinly. Place the sliced steak on hoagie rolls, top with caramelized onions and provolone cheese. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.

  6. 6

    Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with a side of au jus for dipping.
