Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides of the ribeye with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub it in to coat evenly.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

If using a grill, preheat it to high heat (about 450-500°F). If using a pan, heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribeye

Once the grill or pan is hot, place the ribeye steak on it. For medium-rare, cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side. Adjust the cooking time depending on your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Rosemary (Optional)

During the last minute of cooking, add a sprig of fresh rosemary to the pan or grill for added flavor. Baste the steak with the juices using a spoon.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve it on a plate. Enjoy your perfectly cooked 16oz certified black Angus ribeye steak!
