Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- 2
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and melted unsalted butter. Mix until smooth.
- 3
Mix Together
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir lightly until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Fold in Add-ins
Gently fold in the chopped pecans and crumbled bacon into the batter.
- 5
Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 6
Cook the Waffles
Pour the recommended amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually about 5-7 minutes.
Whipped Cream Preparation
- 7
Make the Whipped Cream
In a medium mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip the heavy cream until it begins to thicken.
- 8
Add Sugar and Vanilla
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to whip until soft peaks form.
Serving
- 9
Serve the Waffles
Place the cooked waffles on plates, drizzle with Steen’s pure cane syrup, and top with a generous dollop of house-made whipped cream before serving.
