Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty, roughly ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Burger

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
