Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Pasta

Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the fettuccine. Set aside.

Making Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt completely.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Heavy Cream

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 7

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

Serving

  1. 9

    Garnish

Divide the Alfredo pasta among serving plates, then top with shaved Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley.

  2. 10

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Alfredo Pasta!
