Fried Green Beans
Method
Fried Green Beans
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash the fresh green beans thoroughly under cold running water. Trim the ends of the green beans by cutting off about 1 inch from each end. Pat the beans dry with a clean towel.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually add the cold water to the dry ingredients while whisking until you achieve a smooth batter with no lumps.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, pour the vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small amount of batter into it; if it bubbles and rises to the surface, the oil is hot enough.
- 4
Coat the Green Beans
Dip each green bean into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off before frying.
- 5
Fry the Green Beans
Carefully place the battered green beans into the hot oil in small batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried green beans and drain them on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Once all the green beans are fried, serve them hot with your favorite Chipotle Aioli for dipping.
