Beverage Base

Optional Heat (Mexican touch)

Method

Prepare Glasses and Rim

1

Mix rim seasoning

On a small plate, combine the granulated sugar and coarse sea salt (or Tajín). Stir so the sugar and salt are evenly distributed. Set aside.

2

Rub the lime wedge around the outer rim of each serving glass. Dip the wet rim into the sugar-salt mixture and twist to coat. Set glasses aside to let the rim set while you prepare the beverage.

Make the Citrus Sprite

3

If using fresh mint and cucumber, gently muddle 4 mint leaves and 3 cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker or pitcher to release aroma and a little juice. Do not over-muddle; you want fragrance, not bitterness.

4

Add the fresh lime juice (1/2 cup) and fresh lemon juice (2 tbsp) to the pitcher or shaker with the muddled ingredients and stir briefly to combine.

5

Pour in the Sprite (3 cups). Gently stir to combine so you keep as much carbonation as possible. Taste and adjust: if you want more tang, add another tablespoon of lime; for sweeter, add a teaspoon of sugar or a splash of simple syrup.

Assemble and Garnish

6

Fill each rimmed glass with ice cubes (about 1/2 cup per glass). If making a pitcher, fill glasses from the pitcher; if serving individually, divide the beverage evenly among glasses.

7

Strain (optional) as you pour so muddled solids remain in the pitcher. Add 1–2 cucumber slices and 1–2 mint leaves to each glass for garnish, then top with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.

8

For a spicy Mexican touch: sprinkle a pinch of Tajín over the top of each drink or add 1–2 thin jalapeño rings to each glass. Stir once gently and serve immediately.
