Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, combine semolina, flour, and baking powder. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Milk

Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the milk.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  6. 6

    Add Rose Syrup

Fold in the rose syrup until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  7. 7

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool and Soak

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and place it on a wire rack. While the cake is still warm, drizzle additional rose syrup over the top to soak.

  9. 9

    Serve with Clotted Cream

Serve slices of the cake with a generous dollop of clotted cream on the side.
