Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 5
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in a 9x9 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 6
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
