Stuffed Shells Ingredients
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta Shells
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Filling
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and ground sausage until browned. Add the chopped shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix the Cheese Filling
In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Combine Meat and Cheese Mixture
Add the meat and shrimp mixture to the cheese mixture and stir until fully combined.
- 5
Stuff the Shells
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spoon a layer of marinara sauce onto the bottom of a baking dish. Take each cooked shell and stuff it with the meat and cheese filling, then place it in the baking dish.
- 6
Top with Sauce and Cheese
Once all the shells are stuffed, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- 7
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 8
Serve
Let the stuffed shells cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
