Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients and prepare the beef (or chosen protein) by cutting it into bite-sized pieces. Dice the potatoes and peel the pearl onions.

2

Cook the Curry

In a large pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the Massaman curry paste and stir-fry for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

3

Add Protein

Add the beef (or chosen protein) to the pot and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

4

Combine Ingredients

Pour in the coconut milk, and add the diced potatoes, pearl onions, tamarind paste, shrimp paste, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Stir well to combine.

5

Simmer the Curry

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the flavors meld together.

6

Serve

Serve the Gaeng Massaman hot, topped with crispy shallots, alongside steamed jasmine rice.
