Pulled Pork
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the rubbed pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider vinegar over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
- 3
Make the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once the pork is done cooking, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the pork using two forks, discarding any excess fat.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwiches
Place a generous amount of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with coleslaw, then place the top half of the bun on. Serve immediately.
