Cornbread Ingredients
Method
Cornbread Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the cornbread.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of Davis Farm flint cornmeal, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Whisk the dry ingredients together until well blended.
- 3
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 2 large eggs, and 1 tablespoon of koji maple butter. Ensure the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 5
Add Melted Butter
Fold in 1 tablespoon of melted butter into the cornbread batter until evenly distributed.
- 6
Prepare Baking Dish
Grease a 9-inch square baking dish or cast-iron skillet with additional butter or cooking spray.
- 7
Pour Batter and Bake
Pour the cornbread batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
