Garlic Knots

Homemade Marinara Sauce

Method

Garlic Knots

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth, about 8-10 minutes. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Shape the Knots

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a knot. Place on a greased baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Prepare Garlic Butter

Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a small pan. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley. Brush the mixture over the knots.

  4. 4

    Bake

Sprinkle the knots with grated Parmesan cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Homemade Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and basil. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
