Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half if they are too long for frying. This will help them fit better in the pot.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and mix the breadcrumbs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in the third bowl.

Breading

  1. 3

    Coat the Cheese Sticks

Take each mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.

  2. 4

    Double Dipping (Optional)

For extra crispy mozzarella sticks, you can dip the coated cheese sticks back into the egg and then into the breadcrumbs again.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully place the breaded mozzarella sticks in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 7

    Drain the Sticks

Using a slotted spoon, remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Marinara

Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving plate and serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
