Asparagus

Herb Whipped Sour Cream

Method

Prepare the Asparagus

  1. 1

    Wash and Trim

Wash the asparagus spears under cold water to remove any dirt. Trim the tough ends of the asparagus by snapping them off or cutting them with a knife.

  2. 2

    Season Asparagus

In a large bowl, toss the asparagus spears with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated.

Fry the Asparagus

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add more oil as needed for frying.

  2. 4

    Cook the Asparagus

Add the seasoned asparagus spears to the hot skillet in a single layer. Fry for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and slightly crispy.

  3. 5

    Drain

Once cooked, remove the asparagus from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Herb Whipped Sour Cream

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, chopped chives, dill, garlic powder, and lemon juice.

  2. 7

    Whip the Mixture

Using a whisk or electric mixer, whip the sour cream mixture until it is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Arrange the fried asparagus on a serving plate. Serve with the herb whipped sour cream on the side for dipping.
