Method

Brownie Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  4. 4

    Add Vanilla and Butter

Add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the sugar and egg mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  6. 6

    Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  7. 7

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  8. 8

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  9. 9

    Cool and Slice

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Brownies

Serve the cooled brownies warm or at room temperature, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
