Hashbrown Preparation

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for the hashbrowns to bake evenly.

Grate Potatoes
Peel the Russet potatoes and grate them using a box grater or food processor.

Remove Moisture
Place the grated potatoes into a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.

Season Potatoes
In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes with salt and black pepper. Mix well.

Cook Hashbrowns
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the potato mixture, pressing it down to form a flat layer.

Flip and Cook
Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Flip the hashbrowns carefully using a spatula and cook the other side for an additional 5-7 minutes.

Bake Hashbrowns
Transfer the cooked hashbrowns onto a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven for another 10 minutes to ensure they are cooked through.

Cool Hashbrowns
Remove the hashbrowns from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Add Crème Fraîche
On each hashbrown, add a generous dollop of crème fraîche.

Add Trout Roe
Top the crème fraîche with a teaspoon of trout roe for a burst of flavor.

Finely chop fresh dill and sprinkle it over the top for garnish and added freshness.
