Method
Preparation
- 1
Cook the Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Break it up into smaller pieces as it cooks.
- 2
Prepare the Tater Tots
Cook the tater tots according to package instructions, either in the oven or air fryer until crispy and golden brown.
- 3
Cook the Bacon
In a separate pan, cook the smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and chop into small pieces.
- 4
Shred the Cheese
If not using pre-shredded cheese, shred the American cheese using a cheese grater.
Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Burrito
On a large flour tortilla, layer 1/2 cup of cooked sausage, 1 cup of crispy tater tots, 2 slices of chopped bacon, and 1/2 cup of shredded American cheese.
- 6
Add Chili Jam
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of chili jam over the filling on the tortilla.
- 7
Roll the Burrito
Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it from the bottom up, ensuring all the fillings are securely wrapped inside.
Cooking
- 8
Toast the Burrito
In a skillet, place the rolled burrito seam-side down and toast over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
