Method

Grilled Pear

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pears

Cut the ripe pears in half and remove the seeds. Brush them with olive oil on the cut side.

  2. 2

    Grill the Pears

Preheat the grill to medium heat. Place the pears cut side down on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they have grill marks and are tender.

  3. 3

    Finish with Honey and Cinnamon

Drizzle honey over the grilled pears and sprinkle with cinnamon. Set aside to cool.

Pear Puree

  1. 4

    Prepare the Pears for Puree

Peel, core, and chop the remaining ripe pears.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pears

In a saucepan, combine the chopped pears with water and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until the pears are soft.

  3. 6

    Blend into Puree

Using a blender, puree the cooked pears until smooth. Set aside.

Oat Crumb

  1. 7

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, butter (melted), and a pinch of salt. Mix until crumbly.

  2. 8

    Bake the Crumb

Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.

Sour Cream Ice Cream

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  2. 10

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.

  3. 11

    Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  4. 12

    Freeze

Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
