Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee (250 ml) and let it cool to room temperature. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.

  2. 2

    Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a large bowl, whisk together 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 100 g of sugar until smooth. Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and mix well.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In another bowl, whip 300 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

Separate the eggs, placing the yolks in one bowl and the whites in another. Whisk the yolks until pale and creamy. Gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the mascarpone mixture.

  5. 5

    Whip the Egg Whites

Using clean beaters, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture in batches until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mascarpone on top.

  3. 8

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 9

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top layer of mascarpone with 30 g of cocoa powder.

  2. 10

    Slice and Serve

Slice the tiramisu into squares and serve cold. Enjoy your classic Italian dessert!
