Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring approximately 4 quarts of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use.
Preparing the Chicken

Season Chicken
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Grill Chicken
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Rest Chicken
Remove the chicken from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into strips.
Making the Alfredo Sauce

Melt Butter
In the same pan used for the chicken, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.

Season Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
