Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Onion Slaw

In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, thinly sliced onion, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

2

Fry the Chicken Thighs (Option 1)

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Fry chicken thighs for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and let rest.

3

Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts (Option 2)

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Let rest before slicing.

4

Assemble the Sando

Slice the buns in half. Place butter lettuce on the bottom half, add the fried or pan-seared chicken, drizzle with white BBQ sauce, and top with onion slaw. Close the sandwich and serve.
