Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the lemon slices and Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in an ice bath (a bowl of ice water) to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of Tabasco sauce. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Season the Sauce

Taste the cocktail sauce and add salt to taste. Adjust any other ingredients as desired for personal preference.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the chilled shrimp. Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
