Muddle Sugar and Bitters
In a rocks glass, add the sugar and dashes of Angostura bitters. Muddle them together until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Bourbon
Pour the bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.

Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes, preferably large ones to slow dilution.

Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop it in. Add the maraschino cherry on top for garnish.
