Method

Bruschetta Topping Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil and Garlic

Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Balsamic Glaze

Pour the balsamic glaze into the mixture and stir well to coat the tomatoes and basil evenly.

Bread Preparation

  1. 5

    Slice the Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick pieces.

  2. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush each slice lightly with olive oil on one side.

  3. 7

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the slices on a baking sheet, oil side up, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Top with Bruschetta Mixture

Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Spoon the prepared tomato mixture generously onto each slice.

  2. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta warm as an appetizer or snack, drizzling extra balsamic glaze on top if desired.
