Prepare the Chickpeas
If using canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them under cold water. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and then cook them until tender.

Peel the Garlic
Peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves to make blending easier.
Blending

Blend Until Smooth
Blend the mixture on high speed until it becomes smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as necessary to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.

Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, add a little water or more olive oil, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
Serving

Garnish and Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with extra olive oil, sprinkle with paprika, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers.
