Buttermilk Herb Dressing
Method
Preparing the Salad
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood smoked bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 2
- 3
Prepare the Tomatoes
If using fresh heirloom tomatoes, chop them into bite-sized pieces. Toss the roasted grape tomatoes in a bowl.
- 4
Slice the Avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice it into wedges.
- 5
Chop the Scallions
Rinse and slice the scallions thinly, separating the green and white parts.
- 6
Assemble the Salad
On a large serving platter, arrange the Bibb lettuce as the base. Top with crispy bacon, sliced eggs, avocado, roasted grape tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, scallions, and pickled onions.
Making the Dressing
- 7
Combine the Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, chopped dill, chopped chives, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 8
Serve the Dressing
Drizzle the buttermilk herb dressing over the assembled salad or serve it on the side.
