Preparation
Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together the miso paste, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth. This mixture will serve as both a marinade and a glaze for the salmon.
Marinate the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon, ensuring that each fillet is well-coated. Reserve the other half for glazing later. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a deeper flavor.
Cooking
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that the salmon cooks evenly and develops a nice glaze.
Bake the Salmon
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the reserved marinade over the top of each fillet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Garnish and Serve
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the salmon.
