Black Forbidden Fried Rice

Asian Vinaigrette

Method

Asian Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, and lime juice. Add the chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from heat and slice into strips.

Crispy Rice Noodles

  1. 3

    Fry the Rice Noodles

In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the rice noodles and fry until crispy and golden, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Black Forbidden Fried Rice

  1. 4

    Cook the Rice

Rinse the black rice under cold water. In a pot, combine black rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 30-35 minutes or until rice is tender.

  2. 5

    Make the Fried Rice

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped green onions, diced carrots, and peas. Sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add cooked black rice and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Stir in sesame seeds before serving.

Red Cabbage Salad

  1. 6

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine shredded red cabbage, shredded carrots, sliced red bell pepper, and chopped cilantro. Toss well to mix.

Asian Vinaigrette

  1. 7

    Make the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, and lime juice until well combined.
