Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pie Crust

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and poke the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden (about 15-20 minutes).

  4. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

  5. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the chopped black forest ham, cooked bacon, caramelized onions, and shredded Gruyere cheese to the egg mixture. Mix well.

  6. 6

    Bake the Quiche

Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly browned on top.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
